Atticus is one of the main characters in To Kill a Mockingbird. He is the father of Scout and Jem. Atticus works as a lawyer in Maycomb County. Atticu's wife died when Scout his younger daughter was two. Atticus was home taught. He didn't go to school, but he is very intelligent. "I wanted you to see what real courage was, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand".
