When you choose patterned materials, try to see as large sample as you can, because little sample can make deceptive impression.
Rich colours, strong design will look much bolder when you see it on the all wall.
Pale colours, tiny patterns can fade when you see it on the all wall.

Conclusion
Pattern is very important in interior design.
You should be very careful with mixing two or more pattern together.
Better use pattern just a little bit than too much...
