Deforestation
India is witnessing a rising demand for forest-based products. This is causing deforestation and e into forest protected areas, which leads to a severe loss of natural resources.

A thirst of palm oil
India is a big edible oil consumer. In fact, it is one of the three largest importers of palm oil in the world, along with EU and China. Of these imports, 95% come from Indonesia and Malaysia, causing negative social and environmental consequences in these exporting countries.

Contaminated and polluted water now kills more people than all forms of violence including wars, according to a United Nations report released on March 22, 2010 on World Water Day that calls for turning unsanitary wastewater into an environmentally safe economic resource.…
