The earth is a sphere and spins west to east. During the night, there is no presence of incoming radiation.
There is more energy at the equator. The amount of energy varies. There are decreases at the poles because of the angle, which the energy is reaching the poles. The earth's tilt is 23.5degree's vertical. The tilt changes therefore areas of the earth will receive more or less energy depending. Thus another reason for climate change: the tilt of the earth.
