Europäische Union
Die Europäische Union (EU) ist ein aus 27 europäischen Staaten bestehender Staatenverbund. Seine Bevölkerung umfasst derzeit rund 500 Millionen Einwohner.

Der von den EU-Mitgliedstaaten gebildete Europäische Binnenmarkt ist der am Bruttoinlandsprodukt gemessen größte gemeinsame Markt der Welt.

Die Einführung des Euro als standardmäßige Währung im Jahr 1999. Gegenwärtig umfasst dieEurozone 16 Mitgliedstaaten.
