History of Baseball in Mobile, Alabama

I began this paper in earnest to look at the differences in organized baseball during the segregated history of Mobile. In doing so I also wondered if Mobile's History was similar or different from other parts of the country. Baseball has and probably always will be America's sport. It is America's past time - although it is played world wide, its immense popularity since its inception around 1840 has placed it in the forefront of all American sport activities.
