British money is divide into pounds (£) and pence (p) . There are 100 pence in 1 pound. There are coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 pence and 1 pound. On the coins and banknotes we can see emblems and pictures of the country – national plant emblems and pictures of famous people.

It pictures the portcullis of Westminster Palace.1 pence is often pronounced "one pee"

A two-pence piece can be referred to as tuppence or a tupenny. It pictures the Prince of Wales feathers.

This coin shows the symbol of Scotland, the thistle. On top of the thistle you can see the British crow.
