Humans are social creatures and it is common that they try to find some other people to talk with and to spend time with. Still there are some exemptions and some divergences. There could be various reasons why some people feel isolated.
Firstly, the role of electronic culture is growing. More and more time is spent in the Internet or by the TV set. People sometimes feel more comfortable alone using these new devices than communicating with other humans. They could even prefer email to real conversation. Still they could feel isolated because the other person is not present – he is somewhere on the other side of the wire.
Secondly, even if there is a crowd of people around, somebody could feel isolated because his interests are different. If all people around are talking about something or just have some common idea, there could be some people that could fell left alone with their minds. In fact, everybody can be in such a situation.…
