Muhammad Yunus
Born in 28th June, 1940 in the village of Bathua
He was the third of 14 children
His father Hazi Dula Mia Shoudagar was a successful goldsmith
Mother, Sufia Khatun, who always helped any poor that knocked on their door.
In 1947, his family moved to the city of Chittagong
He obtained his Ph.D. in economics from Vanderbilt University in the United States through the graduate program in Economic Development (GPED) in 1971.
Awards
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2006
Bangladesh government brought out a stamp to honor his Nobel Award
Additionally, Dr. Yunus has been
awarded 26 honorary doctorate
degrees, and 15 special awards.…
