Conclusion
As we have seen JIT inventory control systems is a viable process for almost any business to embrace. It is our opinion that the advantages far out weight the disadvantages and managed properly these disadvantages could be reduced significantly. Many companies have embraced this type of inventory control and have been very successful. This past year Toyota became the #2 seller of automobiles in the world, surpassing Ford Motor Company. Much of this success has been because of the philosophies that Toyota and its leaders have embraced. No system is perfect and emergencies and disasters may indeed happen, but JIT will work for most companies, most of the time.
