The author also reminds us about technical problems during the speech which are not less important. For example, you forgot the right presentation or you noticed a typo8 on your slide. If you left something or something does not work, firstly you have to apologize to the audience. The author suggests us to make list of 10 questions from audience and after that answer each question. It may turn out better than what you had prepared. What to do if you noticed a mistake on your presentation? If mistake is small, do not pay others’ attention to it, if large – have a friend flip through slides (you can say something funny while going fast through slides).
“Confessions of a public speaker” broadens your horizons9 and learns nuances you have to know while performing on stage. To my mind, these two chapters are the significant ones in this book. I think that getting people involved, intrigued and interested are the most essential points of having a well-done speech, and making a mistakes – it is not a problem, if you can find one’s feet10 in a difficult situation. The more you speak in public, the more you learn how to struggle.
