This article is about the Scopes Monkey Trial. Although that was not the official and legal name for the case, it is universally known as such It involved a science teacher, Scopes, who taught Evolution in his public school Biology class which went against the Butler Act. He was arrested and tried by two of the most famous names in law at the time, Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan. Bryan would prosecute and Darrow in association with the ACLU would defend.
