Extract

The Grīņi Nature Reserve is located in the southwestern part of Kurzeme, in the Seaside Lowland in the Saka Parish of Pavilosta District, between Pāvilosta and Ziemupe, 10 km from the sea. The reserve was established in 1936 with the aim of preserving the Green, which is a rare plant species of the Atlantic period - the Green Rose (Erica tetralix), which is located in Latvia on the eastern border of the distribution area and was first identified in 1885.
