Nowadays, mostly in Western cultures, female and male roles change fast. Women take on many roles that were traditionally reserved for men, for example behaviors and fashions, which may cause pressure on many men. For example, men's fashions have become more restrictive than in other eras, and women's fashions have become more broad (women wear trousers, shorts, boots, caps). One consequence of after war era was that men began to let their hair grow to a length appropriate only for women. Even earlier women have begun to cut their hair too short, appropriate only to men. In Western cultures for approximately the last 100 years women have been fighting for the same rights as men. This movement exists nowadays and is called feminism. Most feminists argue that traditional gender roles are abusive for women. They believe that the female gender role was constructed as an opposite to an ideal male role. Feminists fight against discrimination and let females do the same things as males do. The real fact is that women not only have to make their careers, but also keep house and care for children. These are now modern roles of modern males and females in our modern society!
