H.G. Wells (Full name Herbert George Wells) was born on September 21 1866. In 1883, he obtained a scholarship to the Normal School of Science of London and studied biology under T.H. Huxley. Huxley was a believer of Darwinism which involves around Theory of Evolution and survival of the fittest. This is one of the reasons why H.G. Wells wrote many stories with scientific elements, such as his debut novel 'The Time Machine' in 1895, and 'The War of The Worlds' 7 years later.
