The barrack was a home for political prisoners. Latvian political prisoners were exiled to Siberia in 1941 and in the other years of the occupation of Latvia. Prisoners often were guiltless or they were exiled to Siberia with whole families, including innocent children, but they all had to live in those terrible conditions. Fights, starvation, death were part of their lives.
