CONCLUSIONS
Every few decades something significant happens to change the way we see the world, literally.
The DVI standard appeared at a crucial stage in the emerging digital FPD market. DVI has the
power to lower costs for both end users and manufacturers. At an even higher level, DVI brings continuity to an industry facing an impending explosion of potentially confusing and incompatible interfaces.
Despite DVI's obvious application for digital displays, it represents fading out for analog VGA interfaces as well.
Incorporating DVI with a traditional analog CRT monitor enables manufacturers to gain added control over final image quality, making differentiation based on image quality much more of a factor than it is today.
DVI has enabled yet another leap in technology with the most common LCD displays to the now increasingly popular TFT (Thin film Transistors) displays, plasma screens, and in the near future light emitting polymer technology.
