Entering the working world can be a scary thing to do. We all tend to cling to the things that we know and feel comfortable doing and ignore the things that we do not want to know about. To go out into a world that you know little about is not that easy to do. This is what Ehrenreich did; she went out into the world of low wageworkers and poverty.
