Conclusion
I strongly believe in the future there will be more sustainable and responsible businesses. I think after covid-19 crisis people will become more self-aware and environmentally self-conscious. UNWTO suggested three main principles for business to acquire long-term sustainability. These were to preserve the natural heritage, take care of the environment, respect local cultures and distribute economic benefits equally. Responsible tourism is also a sustainable and fulfils at least one of the goals either to benefit the planet, the people or gain profit. There are so many beautiful destinations in the world that are already changing the tourism industry. For example, Kerala Voyages in India. In my opinion, they have created very successful community-based tourism model. Sustainability is embedded in Latvia’s tourism policy. Thus, I believe I can create a business that will respect the locals, protect the environment and create economic benefit for everyone involved.
