Investment company Optimus Fondi was founded in 2000, and its main shareholder is Maras banka. Optimus Fondi is an asset management company providing services in investment fund and pension fund management. In May 2001 Optimus Fondi started the management of the open pension fund "Unipensija". In February 2002 the company registered and started its first open investment fund "Lat Reserve Fund". Later in August 2002 - first closed investment fund - "Real Estate Fund" was launched. Optimus Fondi founder and principal shareholder (98.75%) is Maras banka. As of December 2001, equity of Maras banka was Ls 4.6 million. Maras banka stands out among the banks of Latvia for its deliberative and focused growth strategy and the high efficiency of operation.
