Romans Vainsteins was born on 3rd March 1973 in Talsi, Latvia. He lived in Kuldiga, a little tourist town immersed in the green of Kurzeme, where he studied and began his career as cyclist at the age of 11 years old. When he was fifteen years old, he moved to the special school for sportsmen "MURJANI". Here he began the career as pistard and later, at the age of 18 years, he went to the road-races. Since the beginning of his cycling activity, Vainsteins had a great passion for this hard sport, which will last with him during the years up to now.
At the age in 17 years, he visited the Europe and shortly he moved to Belgium in Gent, where he lived for the next 6 years. During this period he run all over the world with the National Latvian team and he won several races as the "Franco-Belgium" and the "Gent-Wervik". He covered the second position at the first European Championship under 23, behind the Italian Mirko Celestino.…
