Self service concept
This above described self service concept, facilitated by the wide distribution of informative catalogues and the use of explanatory tickets on display merchandise is unique and again a point that makes the IKEA concept different and of more value for the customers.
Ingvar Kamprad
Than the main thing that made IKEA so successful is its leader: Ingvar Kamprad, he is the one that determined IKEA's strategy, vision and turned Ikea in a success full company what it is today. Especially in the beginning when he made all the decisions by himself and he started with the strategy IKEA used (the lowest price, the store/location, the self service concept) he entered a completely different market than the furniture business knew and applied this concept on a global scale. Also the management style Kamprad used, the human aspects, improving the quality of life of the people and the extraordinary attention to details made IKEA so successful. And a company with enthusiastic employees, everybody was free to make up new idea's to make the company successful, the employees where really driven and proud to work for IKEA.
