The next marriage was to be a strategic one, it was Anne of Cleves. Between her and Henry VIII, there was a lack of chemistry and Anne was less intelligent than the others. The marriage ended with divorce and Anne was paid handsomely. After the divorce, she went away quietly and was given two places and a huge amount of money. Anne died one of the most riches women in England. All in all, the moral lesson is to take advantage of opportunities like Anne.
Regrettably, honestly is not always the right decision, this situation is depicted by Catharine Howard’s story. She was a very young and beautiful woman and she was sexually abused by several men. Before Catharine arrested she was allowed to come clean about what really happened to her. Not surprisingly, Henry didn’t receive her candour positively and still ordered her beheading.
The last wife of the king was identified as a nurse-like figure but in reality, she became a perfect mother to his children and she had a warm personality and a great sense of humour. She was one of the most intelligent women of all of the king’s wives. She was herself and she did not worry about public opinion.
In my point of view, we can draw a lot of consequences and study many moral lessons of the wives’ and Henry’s life that we can take into consideration and into our lives.
